Welcome to Smart Book LMS. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, process, and protect your personal information when you use the Smart Book LMS mobile application and associated web services.

1. Information We Collect

We only collect information that is strictly necessary to provide our educational and learning management services:

Account Information: Full name, email address, phone number, and student/teacher credentials provided during registration or login.
Academic & Course Data: Class enrollment, attendance records, exam targets, and learning progress.
Device & Usage Data: Device model, OS version, and crash logs for technical performance and app optimization.

2. App Permissions & Sensitive Data Usage

Camera Access (CAMERA): Used solely when you scan classroom attendance QR codes generated by teachers. Images from your camera are processed in real-time on your device and are never recorded or uploaded.
App Usage & Overlay (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS / SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): Used strictly for the user-initiated Social Focus Shield to help students temporarily block distracting apps during study timer sessions. App usage data is processed entirely locally on your phone and is never transmitted to our servers.
Push Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used to deliver critical class announcements, timetable updates, and scheduled daily exam countdown motivation alarms.
Storage / Media: Used solely when students or teachers upload homework attachments, payment slips, or profile photos.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

To provide access to registered online courses, study materials, and lectures.
To record and verify physical and online classroom attendance via QR scanning.
To sync exam countdown dates with your personalized Flip Desk Calendar.
To secure user accounts and verify user identity.

4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. Data is only processed through trusted infrastructure services strictly needed for app operation:

Google Firebase: Used for secure cloud messaging and push notifications.
Cloud Hosting: Secure cloud servers with SSL/TLS encryption for database management.

5. Data Security

All communication between the Smart Book LMS mobile app and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard HTTPS / TLS 1.3 encryption. Access to student and teacher records is restricted to authenticated users.

6. Account & Data Deletion

You have the right to request the deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time. You can request deletion directly in the app under Profile > Settings or by contacting our support team at support@smartbooklms.com.
